Illustrated Tees for a Cause
Officially launching tonight at Flatcolor art gallery in Seattle, Lions Share Industries is a rare breed of T-Shirt company founded around art, community, environment, and compassion.
“One of our goals with Lion’s Share was to show the diversity of the vegan community through the different illustration styles of each shirt. There is a design for everyone, really. Vegan’s aren’t just hippies and punk kids (although we love them). It is also a testament to the community that so many vegan businesses and individuals helped with this project.” – Kirby Johnson, Co-Founder
Lions Share’s first round of designs, “Float”, features five limited edition designs from vegan artists with the purpose of communicating the diversity of the vegan community through different styles of illustration. There are only 180 of each style available, all screen printed in the USA on tees made from organic cotton and recycled PET bottles. 15% of profits will benefit various animal welfare organizations voted for by the community; Float’s benefit being the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.
Round two are currently in planning stages with projected launch dates of December 2010 and June 2011. I can’t wait to see this company do more great things.
